As those called to take up our cross and follow Christ, we can expect opposition from the world for what we believe. Claiming allegiance to Jesus in a world that is sensitive to threats against their sinful "liberties," will certainly come with consequences. Are we ready for this? Do we know what this entails? Are our hearts secure in their allegiance to Christ?
From Peter's example we learn more about the cowardice that exists in all of us, when pressured for our faith. We see the motivations that work to undercut our testimony, as well as the hope for a people so weak in strength.
