As apocalyptic as these realities would be, Jesus identifies the destruction of the temple with these terms. A destruction most terrible in its woe, and swift in its judgment. Jesus warns his disciples of the coming horror of the temple’s annihilation, and the rescue provided, in the midst, for his church.
