When the Walls Are Broken Down

This week we return to the second temple narrative with a new series through Nehemiah. Now having finished Ezra, we move forward in the series of reforms taking place at Jerusalem, with that of the wall. And firstly, the recognition of its ruined state. Here, we find the response of Nehemiah, to news of the troubled and shamed city of God, which carries no little significance for Christians in our time. In our own context of spiritual desolation we can learn from this godly man's broken confession of sin, and deep confidence in the living God.
