The Good Samaritan

This week we explore another famous parable of Christ: the story of the Good Samaritan. A passage which has become popular for what many perceive as a great call to social action. Jesus words, essentially, to feed the hungry, cloth the poor, and care for the needy and infirm of society.

While these are certainly aspects of the Christian mission, they only tells half the story of this great parable. Far from exclusively being an exhortation to philanthropy, Jesus’s words define the nature of his kingdom. His kingdom as one which exposed the self-righteousness of man, called for unconditional love, and would be purchased by his blood. Listen to learn more.
